Independant product sampling and quality verification
MetexEp (Pty) Ltd is a professional independent sampling, product testing and certification company (BEE level 4) focusing on a specialised service to the mining, commodity trading and steelmaking Industries.
MetexEp core business is divided in to three specialised functions, namely,
– Independent product and raw material sampling
– Independent sample preparation and accredited chemical analyses,
– Metallurgical support
Experience
MetexEP has 72 years of combined experience in the mining and laboratory operations with Kumba Iron ore, Anglo American (South Africa and Brazil), ArcelorMittal, Exxaro, Kafue Steel Corporation (Zambia), Gem Diamonds (Lesotho), Bupi Gold project (Zimbabwe), Afrimat, ESKOM, Pistorius Kalk, Tronox, Tharisa Minerals and Africa Rainbow Minerals.
MetexEP is currently involved with various projects (Laboratory and Metallurgy) in South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique with specialised focus in iron ore (hematite and magnetite), manganese, coal, gold, diamonds, copper and limestone.

- Limpopo – Thabazimbi
- Gauteng – Centurion
- Mpumalanga – Middelburg and Delmas
- Western Cape – Saldanha (implementation phase)
- KwaZulu Nata – Durban export harbour
MetexEP is also in partnership with various international companies based in USA and China.
Laboratory Support
The laboratories focus on the independent product sampling, sample preparation, accredited chemical and physical analyses for third party final product verification and certification.
QA QC
MetexEp is also involved with the laboratory accreditation process for various mining operations and the establishment of new laboratories as required by the client.
Metallurgical Support
MetexEp metallurgical support covers the total value chain from Exploration and bulk sample characterisation, Plant modelling and final product optimisation.

We have extensive knowledge of the MHSA and are competent to carry legal appointments under the MHS and OSH acts.
MetexEp operates on high safety and quality standards as prescribed by MHSA, OSHAS and SANAS standards.
